Who We Are
  • We are a small family business cosmetology schools that have been educating students in the cosmetology arts & sciences for over 50 years.
  • We only offer programs in Hair Design, Esthetics, Barbering, Nail technology & Educator training.
  • We are clock hour schools, mandated by the State of Oregon to teach a certain number of hours for each program. For example, if a student enrolls Hair Design, Nail technology and Esthetics they must complete 2300 hours, which happens to be the longest "cosmetology" program in the nation.
  • We are located in Salem, Bend, Medford, Corvallis, Grants Pass and Newport, Oregon.
  • Our schools range in size from 30-125 students, average size of 56 students. We have an extensive admissions process and do our best to enroll only those that are looking for a career in the professional beauty industry.
  • Managed growth, with focus on meeting industry needs in our markets and surrounding areas.
  • The largest demographic of our students is female, around 18-24 years in age. Many, if not most, would not otherwise be able to afford to attend our school without Title IV aid.
  • We are clock hour schools with extensive hands-on training. We have low teacher to student ratios ~ 1-14.
  • Our students must complete our program and pass a practical examination and a state administered written licensure examination through the Oregon Health Licensing Agency, Board of Cosmetology.
We are licensed by the Oregon Department of Education. We report our completion, licensure and placement outcomes annually.
  • We are accredited by the National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology Arts & Sciences.
  • We must meet completion standards of 50%, licensure standards of 70% and placements standards of 60% to remain accredited.
  • Our 2008 average cohort default rate for all of our schools in 9.66%
  • Our retention rates hover around 85-90% given data calculated on an annual basis.
  • We offer extremely affordable beauty services to tens of thousands of our community members each year. Many of whom could not afford the same services if they were to go to a salon.
  • We offer discounts to senior citizens guests, free haircuts to members of the military and to any school aged child that cannot afford to get one otherwise.
  • We participate in cut-a-thons, community fundraisers and charity events. We have raised over $100,000 for National Missing & Exploited Children and the Susan G Komen foundation.
  • We spend tens of thousands of dollars on continuing education for our staff each year.
  • We employ ~60 team members, of educators and administrators
  • We know our student body well and believe in offering them an opportunity through hard work, education and dedication to reach their full potential.
  • We are incredibly passion about the professional beauty industry and what it has to offer to our students, graduates and team members.
Who we are not:
  • We do not offer extensive on-line training.
  • We do not offer programs outside of the discipline of cosmetology arts and sciences.
  • We are not rapid growth centric.
  • We do not engage in deceptive marketing tactics to enroll students.
